Senior Software Developer

Working closely with the Software Development Manager, you will plan and develop software systems. You will use your experience to suggest possible approaches to individual projects, including any frameworks or technologies to recommend.

While the above forms the core of the day to day role, additional activities may be requested of you, and as a pro-active member of the company you would be expected to assist members of the team in achieving company related goals.  A fuller list of day to day tasks can be found in section 3.3 of this document.

Sales and Customer Relationships

You will play a key role in helping to assess client needs, suggesting appropriate solutions and creating detailed specifications, in collaboration with clients and other team members. This will include estimation of time required for development, outline project plans and intermediate milestones.

Working with the Software Development Manager (SDM), deliver best in class customer service to our customers.

Software Development

Plan and develop software systems. You will use your experience to suggest possible approaches to individual projects, including any frameworks or technologies to recommend. Use appropriate project management tools for version control and issue tracking.

You will work on a wide range of software development projects. Primarily, PHP based web applications will be at the core of our projects, but a common feature is that our applications will interface with a wide variety of other systems.

Training and Mentoring

You will help to train and mentor junior staff to help them develop their skills and achieve their training plans.

Research and Development

In conjunction with the Software Development Manager, participate in research and development and product evaluation programmes to ensure that the software team remains at the forefront in the industry, applies the most cost-effective methods and approaches, provides leading-edge products and services and retains its competitive edge.

General

While the above forms the core of the day to day role, additional activities maybe requested of you, and as a pro-active member of the company you would be expected to help in any reasonable request.
