As you will have noticed, ESP Projects has been posting regular content relating to GDPR (General Data Protection). Which comes into force in May 2018. Recently, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has released new content aimed at charities. Adding to the ever-growing list of resources on its website. The documentation has been added to the Small Business advice and guidance section.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) FAQs for charities.
What GDPR Information For Charities Will I Find?
The page contains information about what needs to be done now and in the future. The format of this information is an FAQ style, covering issues such as:
- Charities compliance
- Privacy notices
- Marketing consent
- Opt-in/opt-out
- Appointing GDPR focussed staff.
It also provides links to a number of other resources such as “12 steps to take now checklist” and a Self-Assessment tool. There is also specific information provided for health charities.
Why read it?
Essentially, this new GDPR FAQs for charities is aimed at getting charities to act now, rather than waiting for the May 2018 deadline to ensure GDPR compliance. If you have unanswered questions after reading the ICO’s new information, you can contact their small business advice line by calling 0303 123 1113.
The ICO will continue to release information over the coming months and ESP Projects will try to provide reference to it where possible.
